AI Engineering Code Summit 2025 - Analysis & Insights

This repository contains comprehensive notes, analysis, and synthesis from the AI Engineer Code Summit 2025 held November 19-22, 2025 in Midtown Manhattan, New York. These notes cover the Leadership Sessions (Nov 20) and Engineering Sessions (Nov 21).

Notes

Most of this was based on my note taking and phone-photo snapping work on side at the conference. I wrote down the quotes as they happened but I wasn’t able to verify anything. From my notes, I used claude to expand, contract, expand again, and contract again the content. Look through for themes, tweaking the ideas, and then reorganizing things into sections.

I designed the basic side using aistudio, copied it over into my claude-managed repo, and iterated on the designs. I used nano-banana to process the conference photos — vibe coded an image processor which also can double as a Claude Code skill — and generate the diagrams for the posts. The process-slides prompt then read each slide and figured out which speaker it went it.

After choosing all of the themes, I then went back and rewrote all of the articles because boy does AI generated prose really. Its not this but its that. Sigh.

Raw notes & Photos

Some of the prompts that got us here:

But ultimately, you just gotta type everything in from scratch.

A discoursive journey into subagents

The speaker decorator was fun: I wrote that with a prompt, then I’d trigger it with “look through all the speakers that don’t have a photo and run a subagent for them 10 at a time”. The agent could drive itself, who needs flow control when it’s smart enough to do it own its own.

About the Author

Will Schenk is a father, entrepreneur, technologist and aspiring woodsman living in the woods of Northwest Connecticut with his wife Ksenia, four boys, and one baby girl.

In 2010, Will cofounded HappyFunCorp, a software development company focused on mobile product development. He stepped back from day-to-day operations in January 2022 and sold the company later that year. He then took a professional break from technology, moved to the woods to focus on family, and started Cornwall Market, a brick and mortar food market. He’s also the cofounder of Tezlab, a mobile app helping users understand how to use their Tesla and Rivian vehicles.

During his break, the world of generative AI emerged, drawing him back to the tech space. He founded The Focus AI in November 2024, working with clients to apply AI technology in real-world scenarios and exploring practical implementations of AI in software development.

Will maintains a personal blog at willschenk.com where he writes lab notes, how-to guides, and thought fragments about technology, programming, and life in Connecticut.

About The Focus AI

The Focus AI helps teams bridge the gap between AI experimentation and production reality. Founded in late 2024, the consultancy works with organizations to:

  • Move past “pilot purgatory” — turning AI proofs-of-concept into production systems that deliver measurable value
  • Build AI-native workflows — integrating AI into the software development lifecycle, from coding agents to automated testing
  • Develop internal capabilities — training teams to work effectively with AI tools and build their own AI-powered applications

The Focus AI specializes in practical, hands-on implementation rather than theoretical frameworks. The approach is informed by decades of software development experience and a deep curiosity about how AI is reshaping the craft of building software.
